Dear Diary

I don’t post as much personal stuff as I used to, but this is still “my blog” and every now and then I don’t see anything wrong with it.

I’ve found something out about myself, and it happened because of a dream I had.  I thought that was pretty cool.

In short:  I dreamt that I witnessed a series of murders, and my testimony could answer all of the unsolved questions and bring justice to a number of families.  But as I approached the police officer to tell him what I knew, I was dismissed as unimportant and they listened to someone else, who could only speculate at best about what happened.

What this means:  My biggest insecurity is being ignored and/or shoved aside.  I happened to be thinking about this in the abstract a lot this weekend, so had the dream which, when I woke up, turned all these abstract thoughts into something concrete.

Rods

Yesterday was one of those strange but welcome nights I have every so often.  I went to bed very, very early and woke up in the middle of the night.  I groggily checked the clock expecting to have only an hour left to sleep, only to see “1:01.”  This was exciting, because normally this is when I’m just starting to go to bed.  Knowing I still had 5 hours left was awesome and I promptly went back to sleep even though I was in the middle of a strange dream.

I was in my apartment and we were having a sleep over (yes, a sleep over).  There were lots of people there that I didn’t know in real life but felt very comfortable with in the dream.  Anyway, I woke up early in the morning (in the dream) and went into the next room where my computer is to check my email.  Before I got to my desk, though, I noticed these strange metal rods on the floor.

It looked like someone had cut up a few metal clothes hangers and threw the pieces all over the room.  Some even were hooked at the ends.  I bent over to pick one up and held it for a moment before I realized it was shocking the shit out of me.

The shock felt like a continuous static charge.  Nothing painful, but not pleasant.  I threw it down and went to go get someone to ask them about it, and they picked it up and got shocked, too.  Nobody knew how they could hold a charge without being connected to anything and nobody knew where they came from.

Later, there were five men on the balcony wearing black masks.  Nobody saw them, and all at once they were inside, blending in with everyone.  Eventually, they started to steal things and people started to realize something was wrong.  People would ask me who the men were, and if I knew they were doing things like taking my TV and lowering it out from the balcony into a large semi truck.

I went and got some of the electrified rods and started throwing them at the men.  They left, but took all my stuff with them.

We decided we needed to go after them, so we all got on our bikes (yes, bikes) and followed them to this factory looking place in the middle of nowhere.  A big gunfight ensued (somehow we all had guns), and everyone died except me and one other person.  We got to the semi truck with my stuff in it, and I started it up, and then the person next to me turned to me and stabbed me with an electrified rod, and at that point I knew I was double crossed—the “friend” I was with was working for the Black Masks!

I was able to kick the person out of the truck, and run over them once I got the hang of shifting an 18 wheeler.  I then took the truck back to my apartment and unloaded everything back into my apartment.

The electrified rods were gone when I got there, but when I turned a corner I saw a shadowy figure leap out of a window.  Right before he did, he looked right at me and I remember thinking he looked like an alien and both hands were clutching the rods.

Anyway, that’s it.  Pretty chill dream, or whateva.
