…so, we’re in the middle of a credit crisis, brought about in part by credit companies who gave out loans to people who couldn’t afford them and are now getting slapped in the face and surprised when people actually say, “hey, I can’t afford this after all.”

It seems to me that one of the lessons here is don’t just randomly give massive amounts of credit to whoever asks for it.

It seems like now should be the time where banks have a couple meetings, maybe with the Bobs, about how to scale back costs and fix the problem.  A solution might be, “let’s stop printing and mailing four cash advance checks every week to our card holders.  That would save postage, and would stop people from going into debt and not being able to pay it.”

I’ve gotten more cash advance checks from my credit card companies in the last two weeks than I’ve ever gotten, on top of a letter yesterday saying one of my credit cards credit limits was increased by $7,000.

Re-donky-lips. What are the Bobs getting at?  Never trust a suit.

EDIT: I see what you’re doing here, Bob.  I’ve never missed a payment and you want me to rack up that debt so I can pay it off at 12% interest so you can go out with your collegaues at $400,000 retreats on my tab.

Well played, sir.  Well played.
