Every now and then I have, what I think, are great ideas for stories. Since I never write anything of substance, I’ve decided to post them and see what people think. Or, at the most, perhaps someone will stumble upon them and decide to make something of them. I wouldn’t consider it stealing because every interpretation would be different, and if someone actually did make something of it, I’d have something good to read. So, in Issue 1, I’d like to know, what if…
…the US & NASA have been quietly launching shuttles to the moon for the past two decades. They’ve been drilling deep into the surface and mining out large craters underground and constructing an artificial living environment where a population of at least 50 people is maintained to ensure that the human race would survive if an asteroid or other Earth-bound catastrophe wiped out the rest of us.
…what if children were born there who didn’t know they were born on the moon? (Like “The Village,” only in space.)
…what if the government were to ever abandon this project and left the people up there to fend for themselves?
…what if it turned out that the only way the Large Hadron Collider project could be approved is if they developed a way to “maintain a reasonable expectation of continued human existance in the event of a major accident,” such as opening up an Earth bound mini-black hole, and this moon base was the result of that condition.
